We were a large party of 12 people. A number of us went for the 10 oz rump steaks with various options and they were great. The beef and Ale pie, the roast chicken, surf and turf, fish pie and the steak burger were all hits. Unfortunately the vegetarian option - macaroni cheese was very greasy and not much cheese. It even caused an upset stomach. We visit here annually at Easter for a family catch up as it's central. Our vegetarian was disappointed there were not more veggie options.

Just had another lovely meal. Food, service and a quiet corner. What more could you want. 15 persons on a bank holiday weekend too. Thank you Red Lion staff.

Curry was best below average, very wartery. Chicken not fresh like chunk squares , husband liked the Gammon.

We visited Red Lion sunday with friends. Staff was friendly and even was really busy and we had no reservation they found table for us very quickly. Very nice atmosphere. We ordered food and drinks. Drinks came pretty quickly, food took a bit longer, but it was very busy, so we did understand. We had coliflower wings and soup all of us the same to make it easy for chef. Soup was delicious.. coliflower was a bit disappointing as the portions were very small for £7 photo attached. We believe that the kitchen probably runned out off coliflower and split one portion between 4 of us lol. This is the only reason for 4 starts as that portion never supposed to leave the kitchen.

Went to the Red Lion for a friend's birthday. Restaurant was working on limited post Christmas menu. Pub was being run by very few staff mostly very young ladies. Service was very slow, my wife went to the bar at least on five occasions to remind them we were waiting for service. Kitchen took nearly 50 minutes before any food appeared, just to make it clear we were a table of 10, which was the only table occupied for a large amount of the time, one other table did have a couple having lunch. Food was just passable but not really up to standard.

I have just spent several hours at the Red Lion with six members of my family and paid for the Christmas three course meal we had been looking forward to. What a disaster. The soup was ok, however the rest of the meal was awful. The turkey must have died of old age. The roast potatoes were not done enough. Water ran from the carrots and swede. There was not enough gravy and the meal was Luke warm. Not impressed with the dessert. Service slow. Never again.

Lovely pub with friendly and welcoming staff. I opted for the lambs liver, which is a favorite of mine and not a lot of places do it. I can honestly say it was melt in the mouth delicious. It wasn't the first time we've been here and it won't be the last.

Nice pub ideal for a base to walk around the lovely countryside from. Modern decor and a very nice lunch menu. I had a stilton and banana baguette with chips which certainly was different and would definitely recommend to anyone trying out this pub. The lady serving was really friendly and looked after us well. Will return for sure. Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie options and not the usual boring standard ones. Parking: Quite a large car park by the pub
